I first met Katy a few years back when I did her make-up professionally for a friend’s wedding. Soon after that I did her make-up for another friend’s wedding – I was instantly drawn to her warm, vibrant, dynamic personality. Shortly after that she contacted me to photograph her beautiful little ballerinas at the school where she teaches ballet. So I was delighted when Russell and her asked me to shoot their wedding.
Their wedding was a small and intimate gathering on Easter Thursday the 2nd of April. They chose a boutique guest house in Glenferness, Aloe Lane Guest Lodge. It has a spectacular westerly view of Johannesburg overlooking a beautiful infinity pool. The lodge is tastefully and eclectically decorated with spectacular suites – a photographer’s paradise. Their nuptials were one the patio with the backdrop of a balmy Autumn afternoon followed by a personal and intimate dinner with their friends and family.
